STB started with the program «Вікна-новини», the first issue of which took place two years earlier - on September 4, 1995. Then «Вікна» became the first independent news program in Ukraine, an alternative to state news, and daily told about events that are discussed at home, in transport and at work.
Today «Вікна-Новини» is one of the leaders of Ukrainian information and analytical programs, giving a start to many television journalists, reporters and presenters. Olena Frol'yak, Georgiy Gongadze, Iryna Vannikova, Andriy Kulikov, Ol'ha Chervakova, Roman Skrypin, Vitaliy Portnikov, Mykola Veresen', Serhiy Popov, Nataliya Yakimova, Igor Tatarchuk and others - all of them at different times began their professional journey in the STB team. Ol'ha Kisl'aya (Executive Producer of the Department of Information Broadcasting) has been working in «Вікнах» since its inception. And in 2005, Tetyana Vysots'ka joined the team - and for 12 years she has been the face of the channel's news.
Until 2004, STB focused exclusively on information broadcasting. With the arrival of Volodymyr Borodyans'kyy and Serhiy Nazarova on the channel, a radical reformatting of STB into an educational and entertainment channel began. They started with technically simple documentaries and entertainment programs, the first of which were the journalistic cycle «Rules of Life» and the law enforcement program «Documentary Detective», which was prepared by the ex-team «Вікна. Kriminal», and the head became the former editor and host of the project Ruslan Gorodnichyy.
2005. STB aired the talk show «Forbidden Zone», documentary projects «Unexplained, But True», «Parallel World» and the updated «Weather»; they offered the young actress Liliya Rebrik to host the latter. This marked the start of the television career of the future host of «Dancing with the Stars!». In the same year, STB received the title of «Breakthrough of the Year» and was recognized as «the channel with the most dynamic development», which it remains to this day.
2006. On April 1, «Incredible Love Stories» aired on STB, hosted by Nadya Meikher, who had just said goodbye to «VIA Gra». Less than 3 years later, Liliya Rebrik replaced her in this position.
2007. STB featured «Battle of Psychics» and Pavlo Kostitsyn, the documentary and educational project «In Search of Truth» with Vyacheslav Garmash and the program «My Truth» about the life and secrets of stars.
2008. STB grew up to create expensive and super-successful talent shows. And in September, it launched the first swallow - «Dancing with the Stars!». The country instantly fell in love with professional dance and learned to distinguish a pasodoble from a waltz, and contemporary from modern. The final episode in December 2008 was watched by every fourth viewer in the country - the audience was only larger for the President's New Year's greeting and important football matches. Over 9 years, the show has given a start to many young dancers, set a trend for dance schools. «Dancing with the Stars!» became more than just a television project - a whole generation grew up on it.
2009. The country learned that «Ukraine Has Got Talent!». Whether you train dogs or paint pictures from sand - this is your unique chance to declare yourself. And Ukrainians gladly took advantage of it.
2010. «X-Factor» spurred performers of all ages to action. And it paved the way to big show business for many young names, including multi-artist MONATIK, the finalist of the National Selection for «Eurovision» MELOVIN, Alina Pash and others. Live broadcasts of the Ukrainian «X-Factor» featured many world stars: Lara Fabian, Kylie Minogue, Patricia Kaas, Hurts and others. Following the results of the first season, the right holders from Britain recognized the STB version as the best adaptation of the format! In the same year, STB took up helping families - and created the reality show «Honey, We're Killing the Kids» with host Dmytro Karpachov.
2011. The air immediately featured six shows unique to Ukraine - «MasterChef», «Weigh In and Be Happy», «The Bachelor», «Farmer is Looking for a Wife», «Pregnant at 16» and «The Cube». From this year, the country began to learn about haute cuisine, fall in love and lose weight with STB. Over 6 years, the participants of «Weigh In…» have lost about 15 tons of extra pounds; The Bachelors have handed out more than a thousand scarlet roses and organized about 300 romantic dates; and the chefs have prepared thousands of exquisite dishes.
2012 – 2016. «Culinary Dynasty», «Lie Detector», «Save Our Family», «One for All», «Dad's Home», «I'm Ashamed of My Body», «Let's Talk About Sex», «For Life!», «Everything Will Be Fine», «Everything Will Be Tasty!» - every new project that STB offers to viewers immediately becomes successful and in demand for many years. And the National Selection for «Eurovision», which STB took «under its wing», for the first time became the most discussed musical event.
2017. «Surprise, surprise!» - said Masha Yefrosinina, appearing on the channel. The premiere of the new show, in which Masha, together with the STB team, brings the dreams of Ukrainians to life, will be seen on September 1.
With such a saturated own production (over 80% of the air programs!) the quality of the product does not deteriorate at all. STB projects and presenters, including «Вікна-Новини» have repeatedly become winners of professional awards and prizes «Teletriumph». The reason for success is that all STB projects have a common goal - to show millions of Ukrainians, through the example of their heroes, that there are no insurmountable obstacles.
