German sports broadcaster Sportdigital has clinched exclusive broadcasting rights for Major League Baseball (MLB) in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH). From 18 March 2025, the channel Sportdigital1+ will air over 300 live games per season, with more than 100 matches available on linear television and additional games accessible via streaming and the Sportdigital+ app.

The season begins with a special opening series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs, broadcast live from the Tokyo Dome in Japan. This marks the sixth time in MLB history that the league has launched its season in Japan. Nine days later, the regular season commences in the United States with 11 games on opening day. Sportdigital’s coverage extends beyond the regular season, encompassing the Postseason and the World Series.

“Securing the rights to MLB allows us to bring another premium US sports league to our viewers. We are committed to providing extensive live coverage and additional services to ensure all baseball fans are well catered for. The MLB on Sportdigital will be a home run for followers of this historic sport,” said Gisbert Wundram, Managing Director of Sportdigital.

To enhance the experience, select games will feature German commentary. Commentators include David Wohlgemuth, Jens Hawlitzky, and Andreas Thies.
