A new report from Arcom and the CNC reveals that Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video collectively contributed a substantial €362 million to French audiovisual and cinema production. This significant figure surpasses the €342 million reported for 2022, demonstrating a marked increase from €162 million in 2021.

This investment is a direct result of regulations implemented in July 2021, mandating that major international streaming services contribute 20% of their French turnover to local production. These rules align with similar obligations placed on domestic television companies such as TF1, France Télévisions, and Canal+ and are in line with a European directive.

While the exact contribution of each platform remains undisclosed due to confidentiality agreements, Netflix previously announced an investment of €250 million in French production. The report underscores the growing influence of streaming giants on the French film industry's financial landscape. The year 2024 will see the inclusion of two new players, Sony’s Crunchyroll and Apple TV+, further bolstering this investment.
