Telia and TV4 have secured the rights to the two highest leagues in Swedish men’s football. The rights to the Allsvenskan and Superettan run for six seasons between 2026 and 2031. The move is a blow to Warner Bros Discovery, which holds the current contract. The Allsvenskan is one of Sweden’s most popular leagues with over 4.5 million stating that they have a favourite team in the league.

“We will manage the trust in the best way and look forward to comprehensive coverage and highlighting the leagues on all our platforms, including the Football Channel,” says Johan Cederqvist, Sports Director at TV4. “We are constantly working to ensure that our customers always have access to the most sought-after sports broadcasts on all screens,” adds Oscar Karlsson, head of Telia’s consumer business. “Now our customers will continue to be able to take part in Sweden’s best football leagues, exclusively via us and TV4, and together with other sports rights that we have collected in one and the same place.”

The matches will be shown on TV4 and TV4 Play.
