United Group has finalized an agreement to sell its Serbian subsidiary, SBB, along with the Net TV Plus business and its associated sports broadcasting rights in the Western Balkans, to e& PPF Telecom and Telekom Srbija respectively. The combined value of these businesses totals €1.5 billion.
United Group, operating in Serbia for over two decades, will retain its other media assets, including broadcasters N1 and Nova S. These channels will continue to be available on SBB's fixed network and will also be offered to Yettel customers. Victoriya Boklag, United Group’s CEO, commented: “Our Group was built on the foundation of SBB almost 24 years ago and grew into the largest telco and media company in our region. “Today’s divestments are in line with our strategy to sharpen our focus on the markets where we can provide the full spectrum of mobile and fixed telecommunication services to our customers, which will enable us to realise the greatest potential for growth and value creation.”
Furthermore, as previously announced, United Group has entered into a non-binding agreement with BH Telekom d.d. Sarajevo for the potential sale of Telemach BH d.o.o. Sarajevo and Telemach Crna Gora d.o.o. Podgorica. These transactions are contingent upon regulatory approvals and are anticipated to conclude during the first half of 2025. Upon completion of these transactions, United Group will have divested itself of all its non-EU telecommunications assets. No further divestments are currently planned.
