Warner Bros. Discovery and the German cable operator association, DNMG, have significantly strengthened their collaboration. This expansion includes the addition of the TLC channel to their existing framework agreement. This strategic move will allow up to 200 DNMG cable operators to integrate a total of five free-to-air channels from Warner Bros. Discovery into their service offerings.
TLC, known for its diverse programming, caters primarily to a female audience with its captivating real-life entertainment shows. The channel’s programming is varied, encompassing human interest stories, unique lifestyles, family dynamics, true-crime series, and lifestyle programming covering home and garden, renovations, cooking, and baking. DNMG is actively promoting this new distribution agreement to its network of operators, enabling them to seamlessly integrate TLC into their services and offer it to their viewers as part of their free-to-air channel packages.
DNMG serves as a central point of contact, facilitating the efficient implementation of the agreement and acting as a liaison between Warner Bros. Discovery and the individual network operators for all contractual aspects. "By adding TLC to our portfolio, we are introducing an absolute entertainment treasure,” stated Damian Lohmann, Director of Partnerships at DNMG. “The combination of captivating real-life formats and legendary cult series such as Emergency Room and Dallas makes TLC a must-have for our network operators and their customers. We are thrilled to bring this exceptional channel to an even wider audience – a true win for all fans of series and entertainment.”
Matthias Heinze, SVP Commercial and Managing Director at Warner Bros. Discovery Deutschland, added: “TLC provides profound insights into diverse lifestyles and social themes through its rich genre mix – and from April, this will also extend to fictional content. This new partnership allows us to make TLC accessible to even more viewers, thanks to the extensive reach of DNMG’s network operators.”
