Warner Bros. Discovery's Max streaming service has officially arrived in Turkey, marking a significant expansion for the platform. The launch incorporates the existing BluTV service, providing a seamless transition for subscribers. Thousands of additional hours of programming have been added, significantly boosting the content library.
At a recent launch event, Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled three new Turkish original productions set to debut on Max: Anatomy of Chaos, Jasmin, and Feride. Furthermore, a preview of previously announced Turkish originals was given, including First Göktürk, Prince season 3, and Çekiç ve Gül: Bir Behzat Ç. Hikayesi season 3.
A key feature of this launch is the commitment to Turkish productions. All new Turkish productions and returning seasons will carry the Max Originals brand and will be released globally, subject to local rights availability. This highlights Warner Bros. Discovery's investment in local talent and storytelling.
Jamie Cooke, General Manager CEE, MENA and Türkiye at Warner Bros. Discovery, stated: “Bringing Max to Turkey is a key milestone for Warner Bros. Discovery and marks the completion of the successful integration of BluTV into our portfolio. The enhanced platform enables us to strengthen our footprint in the region as we offer an even broader selection of world-class entertainment. Turkey has an incredibly rich storytelling heritage, and with Max, we are delivering a premium streaming experience that combines the best of global and local content.”
Deniz Şaşmaz Oflaz, Vice President of Local Original Productions, Local Channels and Streaming Operations Lead for Türkiye, added: “The launch was a defining moment for WBD’s presence in Turkey. “The country has a vibrant storytelling tradition and a thriving entertainment industry. With Max, we are not only bringing our world-class content to Turkish audiences, we are also increasing our investment in local talent and productions that celebrate Turkey’s unique culture and stories.”
Max offers a vast library of content, including programming from Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, HBO Originals, Max Originals, Discovery, TLC, and Cartoon Network.
