Xfinity, a Comcast network in the United States, has significantly enhanced its viewing experience for millions of its X1 customers. They've deployed MediaKind’s MK.IO cloud SaaS platform with Multiview technology, enabling users to watch up to four live events concurrently on a single screen.

This immersive experience allows viewers to effortlessly toggle between channels, switch audio, and select any channel or game for full-screen viewing. The underlying technology is quite impressive: MK.IO, running on Azure Media Cloud, cleverly combines the content compositing technology from Skreens Technology Inc. with MediaKind’s highly scalable streaming platform.

This Xfinity deployment marks a pivotal moment, signifying the first commercial launch stemming from the October 2024 partnership between MediaKind and Skreens. “We are proud to be part of these new immersive experiences initiated by Xfinity,” said Cory Zachman, CTO, MediaKind. “We’re seeing first-hand how scalable, personalized live viewing is transforming audience engagement and the direct impact of our cloud-based architectures designed into MK.IO.”

Marc Todd, CEO, and Co-Founder of Skreens, added: “The future of live sports experiences is here for fans interested in fantasy sports, sports wagering, or simply wanting to follow multiple games at once. With our dynamic multiview technology integrated into MK.IO, viewers can track events concurrently, creating a truly unique and personalized way for them to experience their favourite games like never before.”
