Industry leaders Zixi and Uplynk have formed a strategic alliance designed to help broadcasters, content owners, and distributors seamlessly transition to IP-based video delivery. This partnership aims to accelerate the industry's move away from traditional satellite and fiber infrastructure toward more efficient and scalable IP solutions.
The combined offering leverages Zixi's established IP-based content delivery infrastructure and Uplynk's leading video orchestration and managed services. Uplynk’s StreamOps service provides 24/7 support for various streaming needs, from small-scale live events to large global broadcasts. This managed service significantly reduces the operational burden on customers regardless of their internal technical resources.
Zixi's software-defined platform is highly adaptable, supporting 14 industry protocols, including SRT, RIST, and the Zixi Protocol. Seamless interoperability with existing broadcast ecosystems is ensured through tight integration with standards like SCTE-35. The cloud-based control plane, ZEN Master, offers centralized monitoring and management of live video transport. A key element of this integration is the embedding of Uplynk's platform within Zixi ZEN Master, providing a single, unified interface for managing contribution, transformation, and delivery workflows.
“This partnership is about enabling flexibility and confidence in the move to IP,” said Marc Aldrich, CEO at Zixi. “Whether migrating from satellite or scaling live events, our combined technologies streamline delivery and enhance operational reliability.”
“StreamOps is the game-changer,” added Eric Black, CEO/CTO at Uplynk. “With Zixi’s rock-solid transport and our managed streaming expertise, customers get a complete, scalable solution from signal acquisition to viewer experience.”
