The €13.3 million digitization project in Bosnia and Herzegovina is moving forward, with an addendum to the initial contract confirming OIV and Nimbus Innovations as the principal contractors. The project, which was initially signed earlier this year, will see the rollout of DTT using DVB-T2. This project has been stalled for the best part of the decade, but the first phase was completed in 2016. OIV now has the authorization to proceed with the second and third phases.
The second phase is expected to be completed later this year, and will provide digital terrestrial signal to the majority of the country. The remaining areas will be covered by the middle of 2025. Edin Forto, Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressed his satisfaction with the continuation of the RTV Signal Digitalisation Project, saying "Bosnia and Herzegovina remains the last country in Europe to offer a DTT signal." The Icareus Playout EPG Platform will be used to manage the PSI/SI and EPG for the entire network.
