A+E Networks EMEA has announced an update to The History Channel’s logo and branding across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to Broadband TV news.
The paid TV channel will be sporting a new, vibrant logo in the coming days, designed to give it a sleek and fresh look. The new visual identity cleverly conceals the letter H within the letter H, symbolizing the idea of uncovering the real history that lies beneath the surface.
The channel’s new look and identity are part of a global refresh that began with A+E Networks in the United States and is being rolled out internationally.
Heather Jones, Chief Creative Officer at A+E Networks EMEA in the EMEA region, commented: “The powerful combination of accessible, engaging, informative and entertaining programming is a winning combination that has resonated with our viewers for many years. Furthermore, modernizing the channel’s look will help take the brand to a new level of success.”
In the UK, the brand known as Sky History will retain its current logo and branding. The update will be rolled out in Italy in June.
The new identity for History 2 will be launched in May.
