Leader Electronics of Europe has introduced the LPX500, a cutting-edge quad-input waveform monitor designed for hybrid IP/SDI workflows. The LPX500, set to be showcased at the IBC 2024 exhibition in Amsterdam, marks the first in a new series of video analysis and generation instruments, leveraging technology from both Leader and Phabrix. The LPX500 is equipped with four 12G-SDI inputs and two 100GE-IP inputs, providing comprehensive support for today's diverse video production environments.
The LPX500 is packed with features, including a compact form factor with short-depth, making it ideal for space-constrained production environments. The instrument features a built-in 8-inch touchscreen and an additional independent 8-inch touchscreen that can be connected via USB-C. Integrated noVNC functionality allows users to remotely access both displays over a network. For optimal performance, the LPX500 incorporates efficient cooling pathways and fan-speed control, minimizing noise and ensuring stable operation even in demanding production environments.
The LPX500 emphasizes ease of use and accessibility. Enhanced screen layouts and intuitive gesture controls enable smooth navigation between configured instrument displays, allowing up to 16 simultaneous instruments to be displayed per screen. A new RGB vector display instrument provides a dedicated tool for monitoring gamut violations, while an extensive audio toolset includes 32 channels of audio metering and 5.1/2.0 Loudness measurement as standard.
Martin Mulligan, COO of Leader Electronics of Europe, stated: “The LPX500 is the first jointly developed product from Leader and Phabrix. ... With the rapidly evolving technology landscape, reliable and versatile test and measurement solutions have never been more important. By integrating our companies’ industry-leading technologies into a new cutting-edge platform, we are taking a bold step forward in our mission to provide customers with the most innovative, future-proofed test and measurement instruments on the market.
“The new waveform monitor has been designed specifically to help broadcasters and media companies to negotiate these daily challenges and future-proof their operations for the long-term. It’s the first in a new generation of professional broadcast T&M solutions and we look forward to demonstrating it to IBC 2024 visitors.”
