Canal+ Polska, a leading Polish pay-TV broadcaster, has significantly boosted its playout capabilities by partnering with Cinegy, a prominent provider of video technology solutions. The implementation of Cinegy Air and Cinegy Capture allows Canal+ Polska to readily accommodate the rising demand for high-definition content by supporting the launch of extra HD and Ultra HD channels.
This strategic move provides Canal+ Polska with a robust, adaptable, and cost-effective software-based solution. According to Cinegy, the combined power of Cinegy Air and Cinegy Capture delivers a system that is scalable, customizable, and prepared for future advancements. The implementation was expertly handled by Studiotech Poland, a long-standing technology partner of the broadcaster.
Hubert Pogorzelski, TV Production Systems Manager at Canal+ Polska, highlighted the system’s ease of use and efficiency: “The new Cinegy system was easy to implement, can be booted extremely fast, and adding new channels is a rapid and effortless process. The system delivers robust core functionality for our playout needs, ensuring reliable 24/7 operation, and we’re collaborating with Cinegy to expand capabilities even further. We can also now operate it as a channel in a box for some of our services, in particular the thematic channels we provide.”
Cinegy's professional services team, under the guidance of Simon Pilbeam, played a crucial role in tailoring the system to Canal+ Polska's specific requirements. This included integrating support for Kantar watermarking and incorporating custom counters into the graphical user interface (GUI).
