o2 Telefónica is set to launch a new streaming platform in Germany on September 25, 2024, replacing its previous TV offering. The platform, known as o2 TV, is built on the Telefónica Group’s global TV platform and boasts a wide range of features.

o2 TV provides over 130 HD channels, a vast selection of on-demand content, a variety of pay-TV channels, and personalized recommendations tailored to user preferences. The platform also incorporates interactive functions, enabling users to pause live TV programs and reset them to the beginning. Additionally, o2 TV offers 100 hours of cloud space for TV recordings, allowing users to store their favorite shows.

For movie enthusiasts, o2 TV provides access to blockbuster films in its video library shortly after their release. The service allows up to four individuals to watch TV simultaneously, both at home and on the go, using smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, or laptops. Users can access o2 TV through its app, which is compatible with any internet service provider. However, only o2 customers can subscribe to the TV offering, requiring a fixed-line or postpaid mobile tariff from o2 Telefónica.

The monthly subscription cost for o2 TV ranges from €6.99 to €24.99, depending on the chosen package. Users can also opt for combination packages that include services like Netflix and RTL+. Existing o2 TV customers will not experience any changes in their service for the time being and can continue using their current product as usual until further notice.
