Viaplay Netherlands has a new chief executive. William Linders, a seasoned executive with a background at VodafoneZiggo, has been appointed to the role, effective January 1st, 2024. This follows the unexpected departure of Roger Lodewick after only a few months in the position.
Lodewick, in a LinkedIn post, explained his departure. He stated that while he had initially planned to relocate his family from Switzerland to the Netherlands, unforeseen personal circumstances prevented the move. This led to a challenging commute involving weekly flights between Switzerland and the Netherlands. He said, “For personal reasons, however, we couldn’t make the move this summer, leading to the less-than-ideal routine of weekly flights between Switzerland and the Netherlands. After discussions with Viaplay, we’ve found the best solution for Viaplay’s continued growth in the Netherlands, which means I will be stepping down as CEO of Viaplay Nederland.”
Linders will report to Jørgen Madsen Lindemann, Viaplay Group’s president and CEO. His career includes work at Fox, Endemol, and most recently, the Utrecht-based digital content firm OD Media. His experience in both traditional media and the digital sphere positions him well to lead Viaplay's continued expansion in the Dutch market.
