Washington Harbour Partners announced a strategic investment in Trusted Space, a government contractor specializing in mission engineering and analysis tools for satellite operations. Based in Leesburg, Virginia, Trusted Space will leverage this investment to accelerate its research and development efforts.
The focus will be on areas of high military demand, particularly command-and-control software for satellite constellations. According to a statement from Washington Harbour, “Space is rapidly emerging as the single most critical warfighting domain, and deploying advanced solutions, like the ones Trusted Space develops, is fundamental to national security and geopolitical stability.”
Washington Harbour, located in Washington, D.C., specializes in technology companies serving government and national-security markets. This investment aligns with the Pentagon’s increasing interest in autonomous satellite operations and space domain awareness, which necessitate advanced mission tools. This move follows previous investments in space technology, including Turion Space and Quindar.
Founded in 2019, Trusted Space utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning in its applications, spanning battle management to space domain awareness and mission data processing. Bob MacMillan, co-founder and president of Trusted Space, expressed confidence, stating “Washington Harbour’s deep knowledge of our industry, shared vision, and expansive strategic relationships all give our team great confidence and excitement.” The founders will continue to lead the company.
Mina Faltas, Washington Harbour’s founder and chief investment officer, noted the firm's commitment to supporting innovative companies in the national security ecosystem. She stated the firm is “committed to supporting innovative companies across the national security ecosystem. Space is rapidly emerging as the most critical warfighting domain, and we are looking for companies that will define the future of orbital security and help deliver the next generation of capabilities to the United States and our allies.”
