Disney+ is rolling out a new feature for its US subscribers: Continuous Playlists. These playlists aim to enhance the streaming experience by providing curated selections of content tailored to different interests and preferences.

Initially, Disney+ will offer two playlists available to all subscribers: ABC News Live and a playlist focused on preschool content. Four additional playlists will be introduced later in the fall, initially available exclusively to premium subscribers.

The playlists, reminiscent of FAST channels without commercials, will include:

  • Seasonal Content: A collection of seasonal-themed content from across the Disney+ catalog.
  • Epic Stories: A compilation of action-packed stories from popular brands and franchises, including Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars.
  • Throwbacks: A destination for nostalgic pop culture content.
  • Real Life: A lineup of traditional documentaries, biopics, and true stories.

The content within these playlists will be refreshed monthly.

“Playlists are the latest example of how we’re providing the best value and experience for our subscribers every time they open Disney+,” commented Alisa Bowen, President, Disney+. “Whether it’s news, kids’ content, popular genres, hit TV shows or blockbuster films, there will be something for everyone in a lean-back viewing experience based on seasonality and interest.”

These new playlists come amidst price increases for both the ad-supported and premium versions of Disney+ as well as for Hulu.
