Eutelsat, a leading satellite operator, has been selected by TV Plus, Australia's largest satellite broadcasting network, to provide broadcasting services across Australia and New Zealand.

This multi-year agreement signifies a key partnership for both companies. TV Plus, known for its extensive reach and premium broadcasting services, will utilize Eutelsat's 172B satellite to expand its direct-to-home (DTH) offerings.

The agreement will see TV Plus broadcasting approximately 60 channels, primarily targeting the European and Middle Eastern diaspora in Australia. Eutelsat 172B is a high-capacity satellite strategically located at 172° East, catering to the growing demand for video services in the Asia Pacific region. Its multi-beam design provides exceptional reach across the South Pacific, delivering powerful DTH-type coverage over Australia and New Zealand.

"We are honoured to welcome TV Plus to the growing family of broadcasters located on Eutelsat 172B, and we look forward to supporting them as they grow their compelling broadcast offer in the region," stated Laurence Delpy, President of the Video Business Unit at Eutelsat.

Robert Webb, Operations Manager at TV Plus, added: "We are delighted to be able to rely on the support of Eutelsat, and the perfect DTH-type power and coverage of Australia and New Zealand offered by the Eutelsat 172B satellite."
