Plex has announced a preview of a significantly redesigned app, slated for a full release in early 2025. Currently available as a beta on mobile platforms, it will soon launch on TV platforms. Plex describes its “newly reimagined Plex experience” as a project nearly two years in the making, designed to “bring everything you love into one seamless interface.”

While the beta version omits some features, Plex assures users these will be added before the official launch. A key focus is improved navigation, offering easier content access. “Through extensive testing, we found that this new structure not only helps existing users navigate more intuitively but also gives new users a much clearer sense of what Plex is all about. We’ve brought our core features to the forefront, saying goodbye to the days of hidden hamburger menus and making it easier to explore with one hand on your phone.”

Plex explains that this isn't merely a visual update; it involved rewriting its apps and unifying its codebase for consistent cross-platform performance. This unified approach, according to Plex, has resulted in a noticeably faster app.
