Cyfrowy Polsat has issued a statement denying any impact on its operations from the recent family dispute involving founder Zygmunt Solorz, his new wife, and his children. “Cyfrowy Polsat and its capital group are operating stably, according to plan and in a normal operational mode. The situation reported in the media in recent weeks has no impact on the operational and financial activities of the Company and the Group,” the company said.
The value of Cyfrowy Polsat has fallen by hundreds of millions of Zloty amidst concerns over the influence of Justyna Kulka on the 68-year old billionaire. Solorz has now removed his children from their board positions, including Polsat, which has partially restored their value. Tobias Solorz, son of Zygmunt Solorz, and lawyer Jaros?aw Grzesiak were both sacked from the supervisory board and its size reduced to six members.
The statement also issued a warning to journalists working on the story: “We constantly monitor publications that may be detrimental to the Company and Polsat Plus Group, especially those that, in our opinion, are unreliable and undermine the financial or business credibility of the Group. We urge journalists to carefully verify their sources in order to avoid situations that may lead to a breach of journalistic professionalism”.
Cyfrowy Polsat controls several TV channels including Polsat 1, TV4 and Eleven Sports.
