Alfalite, the leading European manufacturer of LED displays, has announced the launch of its groundbreaking SkyPix RGBW & IM series. These ceiling-mounted LED panels are specifically engineered for virtual production (VP XR) environments, offering a unique blend of video playback and integrated lighting capabilities.

Unlike any other solution on the market, SkyPix combines RGB video playback with a dedicated white lighting channel. This innovation allows for the creation of more natural, consistent, and adaptable scenes. The panels boast a 3.9 mm pixel pitch, up to 9,000 nits of RGB brightness, and an impressive 7,680 Hz refresh rate. Further enhancing their capabilities are precise light control, a color temperature range of 3,200 – 6,504K, and a TM-30 color rendering index (Ra) of 90. With an average power consumption of just 35W (90W max), SkyPix provides energy efficiency for extended studio use.

A key distinguishing feature is the integrated Invisible Marker (IM) system. This replaces traditional physical tracking markers with a virtual, invisible alternative compatible with existing tracking technologies. This ensures precise, real-time synchronization and enables customizable IM constellations embedding metadata directly into the production process. Lighting control is managed via a dedicated application offering real-time adjustment of color and intensity—by zone or pixel—with customizable presets.

“With SkyPix, we’re taking the integration of image and light within virtual production volumes one step further,” explains Luis Garrido, Executive Director of Alfalite. “We listened to studios and lighting technicians to create a panel that not only displays content, but also lights the scene with unprecedented realism and communicates with the broader production system. It eliminates the maintenance and synchronization issues associated with traditional tracking markers. Once again, we’re surprising the market with a cutting-edge solution unlike anything previously available for film, television, advertising, and broadcast. It’s a tool designed to let creators focus on storytelling without compromising technical precision.”

The SkyPix series is targeted at film, TV, advertising, live event, and broadcast productions utilizing VP XR environments. This launch further solidifies Alfalite’s dedication to developing specialized solutions for this rapidly growing sector.
