HBO Max is set to expand its European footprint, launching in Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein on January 13, 2026. Warner Bros. Discovery states this expansion will bring the streaming service close to complete coverage across Europe, leaving only the UK and Ireland slated for early next year.

“We are thrilled to bring HBO Max and the stories that stick with you to new countries across Europe this January,” stated JB Perrette, CEO and president of global streaming and games at Warner Bros. Discovery. “With our strongest line-up of US and local HBO series yet, blockbuster local and international movies, and the Olympic Winter Games, it is the perfect time to make HBO Max available directly to subscribers.”

Viewers in these six regions will gain access to the full HBO Max offering, combining content from HBO, Warner Bros Pictures, Warner Bros Television, the DC Universe, and Max Originals all in one service. Key series highlighted for the launch include *The Pitt, It: Welcome to Derry, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, The White Lotus* and *Euphoria*, alongside films like *Superman, The Batman, Dune* and the *Harry Potter* franchise.

HBO Max will also be the streaming platform for live coverage of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, running from February 6–22.

Warner Bros. Discovery is supporting the launch with new European original content. In Germany, *HBO Max* has approved *4 Blocks* prequel *4 Blocks Zero* and heist drama *Banksters*, alongside projects like a Beetz Brothers documentary about the “Big Maple Leaf” gold coin theft and a *Struwwelpeter*-inspired thriller from *Dark* creators Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. Italian commissions feature *Melania, Portobello – The Fall of Enzo Tortora, Gina Lollobrigida: Diva Contesa* and *Saman*, along with local film premieres like Valerio Mastandrea’s *Feeling Better* and Daniele Barbiero’s *Squali*.
