LiveU, a leader in IP-video solutions, has unveiled LiveU Nexus, a powerful cloud-native universal gateway designed to revolutionize digital and IP-based workflows. This innovative solution allows users to unlock even greater value from their existing LiveU EcoSystem setup.

LiveU Nexus seamlessly integrates IP-video content across diverse platforms and environments, including SDI, SMPTE 2110, and NDI-based production systems, leveraging both current and new workflows. Its primary function is to simplify complex IP workflows, particularly in digital video capture, acting as a reliable and efficient universal gateway for all IP-based feeds within the LiveU ecosystem.

Offering unlimited access to live feeds, users can effortlessly bring in, transform, route, and output any stream in seconds. A wide array of feed types can be seamlessly connected from any location to any other, encompassing LiveU’s LRT™ (LiveU Reliable Transport), SRT, RTMP, HLS, and more, and integrating with on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures. Producers can even incorporate live content from platforms like Zoom and YouTube using a simple URL or meeting link, eliminating the need for converters or workarounds.

Matt Zajicek, VP Product, LiveU, commented, “Broadcasters are under mounting pressure to integrate a growing number of IP and digital video sources. LiveU Nexus changes the game, accelerating their digital transformations and future-proofing their digital and IP-video workflows. By cutting technical barriers and costs, production teams can focus on creating great content faster and smarter — while maximizing existing investments. It’s already been successfully tested by customers, and we’re excited about the potential ahead.”

Key features include automatic normalization of resolutions, frame rates, aspect ratios, and codec differences across feeds, ensuring compatibility with downstream tools. Furthermore, any IP stream can be seamlessly integrated with LiveU’s cloud solutions, including LiveU Studio, LiveU Ingest, and LiveU Matrix, as well as existing LiveU receivers, without requiring additional hardware or configurations.

Zajicek concluded, “Interoperability is at the heart of the LiveU EcoSystem — and this latest innovation illustrates it even further. By streamlining workflows and deepening integration across the platform, we’re making it easier than ever for storytellers to maximize the value of their video content.”
