Mark Roberts Motion Control (MRMC), a Nikon company, will exhibit its latest advancements in robotic camera technology and virtual production integration at the NAB Show 2025 in Las Vegas from April 6-9. At booth N2038, alongside Nikon and RED, MRMC will showcase its innovative solutions designed to improve efficiency and creativity in live production, filmmaking, and virtual production.
A key highlight is the RPS (Roaming Pedestal System), a next-generation free-roaming camera platform for high-end broadcast studios. Unlike traditional track-based systems, the RPS provides smooth, on-air-worthy motion, enabling dynamic camera angles. Multiple units can operate safely with intelligent choreography and collision avoidance. Configurable with a lift column (RPS-C2) or articulated arm (RPS-LT), it features FreeD positional output for easy virtual environment integration. This eliminates floor tracks, creating a cleaner, safer studio.
MRMC will demonstrate the seamless integration of robotics into virtual production workflows in a dedicated kitchen-TV studio-style area. Live demonstrations will showcase the synergy between studio robotics and virtual production, highlighting the integration of robotic systems with virtual graphics technology for precise mapping and synchronized camera angles. The area will also feature panel discussions offering insights into the featured technologies and workflows.
Demonstrations will include the Studiobot XL, RPS with PTA-2, AFC, and RLS with an ARC UHD, showcasing their ability to enhance broadcast and virtual production. Renowned visual engineer Steve Giralt will demonstrate how MRMC’s Cinebot Max and virtual production have revolutionized product commercials, featuring a mini studio for high-impact, slow-motion food cinematography using the Cinebot Max on Track powered by Flair software.
A live staging area will offer hands-on experience with equipment including the Slidekamera, Nikon SR-1 on an Orion Slider, and the Cinebot Mini on Track. Many MRMC products will be demonstrated with the latest RED Digital Cinema camera technology, such as the V-Raptor [X] and Komodo-X. Form Volumes will be the virtual technology integration partner, showcasing its all-in-one studio solution.
“We’re excited to showcase our latest technological advancements, and this year, we’re offering attendees an even more engaging and hands-on experience,” said Assaff Rawner, CEO of MRMC. “By demonstrating how our cutting-edge solutions are redefining the possibilities in broadcast and cinematography, we remain committed to equipping creators with the tools to bring their boldest ideas to life.” Shawn Herold, President of Form Volumes, also expressed enthusiasm for the partnership.
