Dr. Andreas Wiele, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of German media company ProSiebenSat.1, has announced he will not seek re-election. His departure is slated for the conclusion of the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 28, 2025. ProSiebenSat.1 has confirmed the news and initiated the search for his replacement. A suitable candidate is expected to be presented at the AGM.

In a statement, Wiele expressed his gratitude for the collaboration experienced during his tenure. “ProSiebenSat.1 is on the right track with an outstanding Executive Board and a clear strategy,” he stated. He highlighted several key achievements, including the company's strategic focus on its core business, substantial investments in local content, the growth of its streaming platform, Joyn, and a value-driven approach within the commerce & ventures segment.

Wiele also acknowledged the changes in the shareholder structure and Supervisory Board composition since his appointment in 2022, citing these as factors influencing his decision. “By doing so, the company can continue consistently on the transformation path it has embarked on,” he added.

Professor Dr. Cai-Nicolas Ziegler, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board, praised Wiele’s leadership, describing him as transformative. “His departure leaves a great void, which won’t be easy to fill,” Ziegler commented. Group CEO Bert Habets also expressed his appreciation for Wiele’s contributions and strong collaboration.
