Telemundo Station Group is celebrating Earth Day with Nuestro Planeta, a comprehensive multiplatform initiative airing across its TV, streaming, and digital platforms starting April 20, 2025. The centerpiece is a six-hour environmental programming marathon and an original half-hour special premiering April 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. eastern.
Nuestro Planeta explores the escalating impact of climate change and the conservation efforts underway in communities across the United States and Latin America. “Nuestro Planeta is a testament to our commitment to raising awareness about the critical environmental issues facing our communities,” stated Ozzie Martinez, executive vice president of multiplatform news, original programming and standards for Telemundo Station Group. “By bringing together our talented journalists and meteorologists, we aim to inform our audience to take action for a sustainable future.”
The half-hour special will air on Telemundo-owned stations and Telemundo's free, ad-supported streaming TV regional news channels. Led by award-winning journalists and meteorologists, the program examines key environmental challenges facing local communities. The special, produced by Telemundo 47 Nueva York, WNJU, will be anchored by WNJU meteorologists Andrea Romero and Pedro Montoro, alongside a team of experienced journalists and meteorologists providing regional insights.
Contributors include KXTX Telemundo 39 Dallas meteorologists Samanta Rodriguez and Karuska Matos Horta, WKAQ Telemundo Puerto Rico reporter and anchor Julio Rivera Saniel, WSCV Telemundo 51 Miami meteorologist Ariel Rodriguez, and Telemundo 52 Los Angeles KVEA meteorologist Alondra Anaya.
