Media Group Ukraine has presented a package of Ukrainian channels with international rights for the whole world. Soon this package will be presented worldwide in HD quality 24/7 and for providers of all types (analog, digital, satellite operators, OTT providers, etc.).
At the press conference held yesterday, April 26, top managers of Media Group Ukraine revealed some details of the project and answered journalists' questions.
Viewers abroad will be offered a content package with TV channels and the OTT service Ukraine.TV. The content package will include the channels Ukraine 1 and Ukraine 2, which differ only in genre specificity. Ukraine 1 - domestic series, feature films, documentaries, social and information programs: series "The Singer", "The Clan of Jewelers", "On the Line of Life", "Lyalya", scripted reality "Real Mysticism", "Agents of Justice", etc. Ukraine 2 - programs and shows: "Ukraine Speaks", "Star Trek", "People's Star", "Frankly with Masha Efrosinina", etc. As well as TV channels NLO TV 1 and NLO TV 2, which are divided according to the same principle: NLO TV 1 - comedy series and entertainment programs ("How Style Was Tempered", "Super Cops", "Sishishshow", etc.), and NLO TV 2 - programs and shows ("Clean Freaks", "Wrecker", "Eurocheckin", etc.).
"The package of international channels from Media Group Ukraine is a response to the interest that exists from foreign broadcasters in Ukrainian content. We have been repeatedly approached with offers to broadcast the Group's channels in different countries. As a result, we have developed a systematic solution - a package of channels for the whole family. The product is primarily aimed at the Ukrainian diaspora, but we are only at the beginning of a long journey - we will analyze the market, demand and, quite possibly, adapt the product for other audiences in the future. At the very least, subtitles in English and other languages may appear in the near future. Our entry into international markets is, first and foremost, a business decision: Ukrainian content has the opportunity to earn money abroad and it needs to be used,” - noted Alexei Kurakin, Business Development Director of Media Group Ukraine.
“Ukraine channel already had a successful experience of selling content abroad: almost all of our own-produced series have been sold to different countries of the world - they are watched both in Europe and Asia. Therefore, we decided to move on to the next stage - to form a package of channels with international rights. Genre diversity allows us to count on the widest possible audience, who will have access to both our library products and premieres. In the future, we plan to supplement the content with news programs and live broadcasts,” - commented Victoria Korogod, Director of Ukraine TV channel.
“Over five years of the channel's existence, we have accumulated a large library that will be interesting to a young audience and effectively complement our two leaders. Moreover, NLO TV channel is only increasing the pace of its own production: in 2016, we intend to produce about 90 hours of content, and in the next - at least 100. So premieres on our international channels will be quite frequent,” - said Ivan Bukreev, Director of NLO TV channel.
Media Group Ukraine is in the process of negotiating with a number of international providers and will soon announce the start date of broadcasting in specific territories.
