BMW Group is expanding its in-car entertainment options by bringing the streaming service Paramount+ to its vehicles. Drivers of cars equipped with BMW or MINI Operating System 9 can now access a variety of Paramount+ content offerings on the control display.
This feature allows drivers to enjoy blockbusters, originals, and shows like Star Trek Discovery during stationary periods such as charging stops or breaks on longer journeys. For safety reasons, the content automatically switches off when the vehicle starts moving again.
Paramount+ is accessible via the Video App (DTS AutoStage Video Service Powered by TiVo) in the latest infotainment systems of BMW and MINI. The Video App provides a hub for a wide range of video content from various providers, including news, live and on-demand shows.
The integration of Paramount+ is available in conjunction with BMW Digital Premium or the MINI Connected Package and is initially launching in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, UK, USA, and Switzerland. However, the Paramount+ subscription is not included in these packages.
Besides Paramount+, the Video App offers a selection of other streaming services, including Pluto TV, Bloomberg, TED, Yahoo!, and Chili. The app also features market-specific streaming services.
